Dr. Jay J. Jensen, D.D.S. grew up in Polk City, Iowa & graduated from North Polk High School in 1987. He then attended the University of Iowa on an Army ROTC Scholarship, and received his undergraduate degree in General Studies in 1991. In 1995, he graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, and went on to fulfill his Army ROTC obligation by practicing dentistry for the United States Army at Fort Hood, Texas for four years. He fell in love with the Austin area and Texas at that time, but moved back to Iowa to be with his elderly Dad. He became an associate dentist working for his childhood dentist in Iowa and later purchased that practice and owned it for many years. He has now moved back to Austin, Texas to own, operate, and practice dentistry at Cedar Park Premier Dentistry. He is also the Clinical Director of Austin Dental Assistant School - North Campus.
Dr. Jensen has lectured internationally to other dentists and dental teams on clinical dentistry, dental practice management, personality profiling, and personal growth. He also has dental practice management & coaching experience, teaching other dentists and business owners how to have more fulfilling professional and personal lives. Dr. Jensen is also a published author in "Dentistry Today", a very prominent dental journal that goes out to dentists and dental professionals all over the world. Dr. Jensen also taught for the University of Iowa College of Dentistry as Adjunct Faculty from 2000-2005.
Over the past several years, Dr. Jensen has had extensive training in the areas of General Dentistry, Cosmetic Dentistry, Reconstructive Dentistry, Emergency Dental Treatment, Dental Practice Management, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, and the treatment of TMJ Disorders. Dr. Jensen has 18 years of experience as a dentist! Dr. Jensen is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), the Texas Dental Association (TDA), the Capital Area Dental Society (CADS), Lone Star Dental Seminars (LSDS)...a Seattle Study Club, and the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA).
Dr. Jensen is a huge fan of college wrestling, college football, and mixed martial arts. He also loves live music, entertaining guests, interior decorating & design, traveling, and visiting with friends.
Dr. Jensen has two beautiful, incredibly awesome daughters that keep him in line & always focused!
Dr. Jensen is very passionate about dentistry & life, and has a very positive attitude and outlook on both! Dr. Jensen loves empowering others to be their very best & he loves caring for his patients and his students.
